Follow up after an interview!
You must follow up after an interview! Not just your latest interview, but any interview you’ve done in the last year. Let me give you a few reasons why you want to follow up after an interview.
First of all, it’s very important to find out how you did in the interview. What they liked about you and anything that might have been lacking. This way you can utilize this information for future interviews.
Another reason why you want to follow up after an interview is that most people won’t do this, so it will set you aside from your competition. And, it gives you one more chance to stress your interest in their company and why you think you would be an asset to their organization. Again, most people won’t do this so it will separate you from everyone else.
Now, I don’t want you to “bug” the company by sending a bunch of emails or VM messages everyday. Make sure you are polite and courteous with everyone you speak to and let them know why you are calling.
The biggest reason to follow up after an interview, even if it’s been a while, is because of the turn over in companies. The person you interviewed with may be gone. The HR manager may be gone. Who knows? So, don’t drop the ball when you’re interviewing make sure you follow up.
